LDC’s international development is based on a desire to promote regions, subsidiaries and local specialities. We are developing our poulterer know-how and our commitment to producing poultry that is “hatched, reared and prepared in the country”. The LDC Group is present in Poland, Hungary, Belgium and Spain.
LDC Group’s international development has a double objective:
We are marketing our French, Polish, Hungarian and Spanish poultry specialities on the international market through our strong brands, which are well-known to our customers and consumers. In this way we gain a good understanding of distribution networks and the consumption habits of our local consumers. Organised around a dedicated structure per country and close to its production sites, the Export department’s mission is to market the Group’s complete offer through different distribution channels. Our dedicated sales team maintains a close and trusting relationship with our local customers, and remains attentive to their needs.
Our strategy is based on group presence in the countries with promising consumption markets. We generally develop this presence through the acquisition of local players. Sharing our know-how and technological skills makes it possible to acquire new market shares.
We are interested in countries with the following criteria:
• a population with growing purchasing power,
• an agricultural country rich in cereal crops and with a farming tradition,
• an upstream sector that is efficient and productive, or able to become so,
• port-based infrastructure for protein imports and maintaining competitiveness.
Historically oriented around the production and marketing of whole poultry, Drosed has evolved its product mix towards products with higher added value, such as poultry cuts or processed products, and also the production of new species (goose, duck).
The repositioning of these new offers has been supported by major investments aimed at achieving several objectives:
• improving product quality and productivity,
• specialisation of production sites by activity,
• the development and support of strong, recognised brands.
En 2014 the Drosed company acquired the Drop company and a factory in Siedlce to internationalise the production of feed for our poultry. These acquisitions helped boost the development of the poultry sector.
In order to pursue our international expansion strategy, Tranzit joined the Group in 2018. Goose and duck specialists, and more recently active in chicken production, this family-owned company made 60% of its turnover through exports. Its assets included a hatchery, a feed factory, farms and slaughterhouses. With Tranzit, our aim was to develop our market share in Hungary and to consolidate our presence on European markets.
Last March Marnevall, a company with specialist tools for the production of branded breaded products, joined the Group with a view to completing the offer on the Hungarian market with added value processed products.
Kiplama, importer and distributor of French poultry specialities for the Benelux countries, joined the Group in 2019.
As a result of this new acquisition, the Group benefits from a logistics centers that will help drive development in this region.
